Speakers: Bruce Arroll, Professor and Head of Department of General Practice and Primary Health Care at the University of Auckland and Director of the PHARMAC Seminar Series will facilitate the seminar. Dr Tony Fernando, Psychiatrist from the University of Auckland, will be the resource person for the day.
This seminar will be a mixture of lectures and case based teaching on common sleep and mental health conditions.
The common causes of sleep disorders will be discussed. These include depression, anxiety, sleep apnea, primary insomnia and restless legs syndrome. The treatments for these conditions will be discussed.
Audience: Applicants should be those who work with patients who present with sleep problems and ideally be nurses, doctors, pharmacists, midwives but other disciplines are welcome to attend.
